I’ll get right to the point: IT’S RELEASE DAY!!!

I AM SO EXCITED I CAN’T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT BUT JUST KNOW THAT THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT TO TYPE BECAUSE I AM FLAILING AND SCREECHING WITH JOY.

From New York Times bestselling author Cora Carmack, the second in the captivating new YA fantasy/romance Stormheart series, perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and Victoria Aveyard.
Princess or adventurer.
Duty or freedom.
Her Kingdom or the storm hunter she loves.
If Aurora knows anything, it's that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.
In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different…they churn with darkness, and attack with a will that’s desperate and violent.
This feels like more than rage.
It feels like war.

It’s been a long journey to get to this book release, and I’m grateful for all of you who have stuck with me. And I know many of you are still desperately waiting on news of my other books that have been on hold. It’s been a wild past few years, and to stay on the weather theme, at times I felt like I was in a snow globe being shaken by that little girl with braces from Finding Nemo. Every time I thought I might have a handle on things, something would go wrong, and the world would set to spinning again. It didn’t help that I wasn’t very good at taking things easy. I kept trying to throw myself back into work and life before I was ready because I was so worried about falling behind. Of course, every time I crashed and burned, I only got farther behind.
I’ve learned my lessons now, though. A week in the hospital and months upon months of being miserable on meds will do that to you. I’ve learned now to listen to my body when it says to slow down. I’m learning to work in small chunks rather than trying to conquer the world all at once. And more than anything, I’m learning so much more about myself and in turn, it has opened up a whole new world of characters I want to write and stories I want to explore. RAGE allowed me to lean into that lost feeling, that feeling of being at a crossroads at a time of utter chaos. RAGE is the next part in Aurora’s journey, but it’s also the last two years of mine. You might not see it, but on the pages of that book is me learning to believe in myself again. As I wrote those words, I was confronting some of my deepest fears and grieving for all the trauma and change I was facing. I was also surrounded by so much love and compassion, and I wanted to give that to the characters in this world too.
I hope you enjoy the story I’ve laid out for them. And know that more is on the way! I’m hard at work on book number THREE now! After that, I will FINALLY be out from under all the contracts that I signed before I got sick. And I’ll have a little bit more flexibility and control over what I work on next. So, hopefully 2020 will see not only the third Stormheart novel, but some other Cora Carmack book(s) you’ve been waiting for too!
All my love,
Cora
